In just a few weeks, we
will celebrate the most
significant event in
history - the
resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the grave.
What incredible joy
there is in the
declaration of Scripture
that we have hope
because Christ is alive.
In a day when so many
are continuing the
centuries-old effort to
discredit Scripture by
"finding the tomb of
Jesus" complete with
bones, we continue to
declare an empty tomb
which can turn
frustration to faith and
despair to hope.
That's what it did for
those first eyewitnesses
who peered through the
mist of an early dawn
into the empty tomb of
Jesus. As they stared in
silence, an angel who
had rolled away the
stone for their
benefit, announced,
"He is not here; he
has risen!" (Luke
24:6)
One of the things Linda
and I rejoice over with
you here at Grace is
your music ministry.
Throughout this month as
the different choirs
sing the Good News of
the resurrection, we
would do well to invite
any unbeliever to join
us to hear what
Scripture really claims.
The Gospel does not
suggest merely "turning
over a new leaf' or
"changing some habits."
The Gospel of Jesus
Christ calls for a new
birth -- a total
transformation of life -
made possible by what
happened that first
Easter morning!
Invite your friends and
family throughout this
Lenten season to hear
that life-changing
message! Join us as we
"Journey to the Cross."
